抗議活動の影響でCyberpunk 2077 Night City Wireが延期

CD Projekt REDはNight City Wireのオンラインプレゼンテーションを2週間延期することを決定しました。プレゼンテーションでは、開発者がサイバーパンクアクションRPG『Cyberpunk 2077』のゲームプレイを披露し、ジャーナリストに対する初の公開を行う予定でした。Night City Wireのオンライン記者会見は当初6月11日に予定されていましたが、現在は6月25日に延期されています。

『Cyberpunk 2077』は昨日、Twitterでこのイベントの延期を発表しました。

We decided to move Night City Wire to Jun 25th. We still look forward to sharing new information about CP’77, but more important discussions are happening right now and we want them to be heard. We wholeheartedly stand against racism, intolerance and violence. Black Lives Matter.

Night City Wire has been moved to June 25.

I wholeheartedly agree with the team’s decision to postpone.

Right now it is the right thing to do and it is important that voices are heard.

アメリカ合衆国での大量抗議活動のためにキャンセルされたプレゼンテーションはこれが初めてではありません。これらの抗議活動は5月25日、46歳の黒人男性ジョージ・フロイドが白人警官によって8分以上首を膝で押さえつけられて死亡したことを受けて始まりました。フロイド殺害の容疑で警察官デレク・ショービンがすでに逮捕され、最高25年の懲役刑に直面しているにもかかわらず、人々は依然として暴徒化しています。

先日、いくつかの企業が同様の決定を下しました。GoogleはAndroid 11の発表を延期し、Electronic ArtsはMadden NFL 21の発売をキャンセルし、SonyはPlayStation 5コンソールのゲーム発表を延期し、Activisionは『Call of Duty: Modern Warfare』の第4シーズンの発売を延期しました。
